Description
This exceptional Boulle clock was crafted by the highly respected Louis Mynuel, a Parisian clockmaker active between 1680–1742. The piece dates to around 1730 and features a finely ebonised case adorned with intricate brass fretwork inlay and ornate decorative brass mounts and feet.
The high-quality clock movement is signed “MYNUEL PARIS” on the back, while the dial — richly detailed in brass and gilding — features ceramic numerals and a ceramic plaque below the dial signed “MYNUEL A PARIS”.
The clock is largely original, with a later replacement pendulum due to the original being misplaced. The movement strikes on the hour and half-hour and has been fully cleaned and serviced. It is in excellent working condition and makes a dramatic statement piece for any elegant setting.
