Background Information
Armand de Brignac (also known as "Ace of Spades") is produced by the Cattier family estate, Champagne vintners since 1763. Recognized globally by wine authorities including Robert Parker and Jancis Robinson.
All cuvées are crafted in limited quantities using traditional hand-labor-intensive methods by a team of just eight people, overseen by father-and-son oenologists Jean-Jacques and Alexandre Cattier.
Grapes for the Rosé and Brut Gold are sourced from three of Champagne’s key terroirs: Montagne de Reims, Vallée de la Marne, and Côte des Blancs — all Premier or Grand Cru-rated villages.
Villages include: Cramant, Avize, Oger, Choully (Grand Cru), and Ludes, Rilly-la-Montagne, Villers Allerand, Taissy, Villers Marmery, and Mareuil-sur-Ay (Premier Cru).
The wine uses the top fraction of the first cuvée pressing, extracted slowly with a traditional Coquart press to ensure premium juice quality. Each blend combines three vintages for enhanced complexity and nuance.
Aged deep underground (over 30 meters) in the Cattier cellars, the Champagne undergoes manual riddling on wooden racks for 30–45 days. Following disgorgement, each bottle rests for another 6 months before release.
Each cuvée includes a liqueur de dosage aged 9 months in oak casks previously used for Burgundy Chardonnay, enhancing its depth and elegance.
