Background Information
Armand de Brignac (also known as "Ace of Spades") is produced by the Cattier family estate, Champagne vineyard owners since 1763. They are recognized globally among the finest Champagne producers by critics like Robert Parker, Tom Stevenson, and Jancis Robinson.
Each bottle is made in limited quantities using traditional hand-labour methods by a team of just eight artisans, under the direction of father-and-son oenologists Jean-Jacques and Alexandre Cattier.
The grapes for Brut Gold and Rosé cuvées are selected from three prized Champagne terroirs: Montagne de Reims, Vallée de la Marne, and Côte des Blancs. All grapes come from Premier Cru or Grand Cru-rated villages.
Notable Grand Cru villages include Cramant, Avize, Oger, and Choully. Premier Cru towns include Ludes, Rilly-la-Montagne, Villers Allerand, Taissy, Villers Marmery, and Mareuil-sur-Ay.
The wines are crafted from the top fraction of the first cuvée pressing using a traditional Coquart press, ensuring exceptional quality. Each blend features three distinct vintages, adding complexity, richness, and depth.
Armand de Brignac bottles are aged more than 30 meters underground in Cattier's cellars. Hand riddling on wooden racks spans 30–45 days. After disgorgement, bottles rest for an additional 6 months prior to release.
Each cuvée features a unique liqueur de dosage aged 9 months in oak barrels previously used for aging Burgundy Chardonnay.
